Elementary Division (ED)
Outstanding K-6 students attend a three-week summer session of enrichment classes at Washington Elementary School in Point Richmond.
Dates: July 7-July 25 (3 weeks)
Times: Morning (8:30 a.m.-noon) or afternoon (1-4:30 p.m). For an extra fee, ATDP students can also attend an on-site half-day sports camp sponsored by Cal Youth and Outdoor Programs.
Level: Grades K-6
Fees: Processing: $30 (non-refundable); tuition and materials: $460-$480; sibling discount: $25 per student (from tuition only)

Secondary Division (SD)
Academically talented students in grades 7 to 11 attend a six-week session of challenging summer classes on the UC Berkeley campus. Students who successfully complete courses receive a recommendation for credit at their school.
Dates: June 16-July 25 (6 weeks)
Level: Grades 7-11
Times: Morning (8:30 a.m.-noon) or afternoon (1-4:30 p.m.)
Weekly Schedule: 5-unit classes (2 days per week); 10-unit classes (3 days per week)
Fees: Processing fee: $30 (non-refundable); tuition: 5 units, $420; 10 units, $620; AP Biology, $800; lab/materials, $40-$170

Day camps offer imaginative, hands-on activities across a wide range of themes: animals big and small; concoctions and potions; building and designing; and solving and sleuthing. LHS also offers residential, research, and backpacking camps. These take place at outdoor sites in Northern California including the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Sierra Nevada.

Half- and Full-Day Camps
Level: Pre-K through entering 12th grade
Enrollment: 12-20 campers, depending on the camp
Dates: Ongoing, June 16-Aug. 22
Fees: Varies from $169-$390; discounts for LHS members

Overnight Camps
Level: Age 8-18
Enrollment: 20-40 campers, depending on the camp
Dates: 5 or 6 days, June 14-Aug. 9
Fees: Varies from $645-$940 per camp; discounts for LHS members

Additionally, Science and Sports Camps (S2) are full-day camps offered by LHS in collaboration with Cal Recreational Sports.

Enrollment: Begins Feb. 19. Courses fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join a community of close to 200 high-school students who will take classes at UC Berkeley this summer! Earn college credit at one of the world's leading universities, and take advantage of opportunities to enjoy the San Francisco Bay Area.

Students who have completed the 10th grade, show an overall B average on their transcript, and submit a favorable letter from a teacher or counselor are eligible for the Pre-Collegiate Program. Students can take lower-division courses (those numbered 1-99) in Session C (June 23-Aug. 15) and/or Session D (July 7-Aug. 15). In addition, the Pre-Collegiate Program students have a special orientation and campus events scheduled just for them.

Summer residential research program for high school sophomores and juniors to work in laboratories with research faculty and groups for six weeks.

Two-weeklong, full-day camps in skateboarding, "Poppin" (funk-based robotic dance), Lego-Playwell Technologies, outdoor adventures, and more. Green Stuff Day Camp 2008

Saturday Business Academy prepares 9th- and 10th-grade students for academic and economic success through fun and
challenging entrepreneurship, economics, and finance projects. Preference is given to youth who come from low-income families, attend public schools, and/or would be the first in their family to graduate from a four-year college.

Dates: Summer Sessions take place July 14-25, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at UC Berkeley, and every other Saturday morning during the school year. (Visit website for more information and the online application.)
