SPH staff offer community-building info session April 29

On Wednesday, April 29, from noon to 1 p.m. in 401 University Hall, staff from the School of Public Health (SPH) will share information about STARS (Staff Talent and Role Sharing), a one-on-one exchange program they initiated as part of the Berkeley Initiative for Leadership Diversity. STARS matches participants with staff of different backgrounds and payroll classifications in their department to learn about other jobs, build personal networks, gain resources, and explore career opportunities and aspirations.

SPH staff, who view the program as low-cost means to build morale and staff cohesion, have developed a toolkit for other departments that includes marketing materials, registration forms, online surveys, workshop exercises, exchange guidelines, and a website template they are offering to session participants. To attend, e-mail sph_stars@berkeley.edu.
