Memorials for departed faculty

A trio of campus memorial observations for faculty members who died during the spring and summer months are scheduled over the next two weeks, starting with one this Friday, Sept. 11, for Mark Rosenzweig of psychology, who died July 20. The previously announced start time of noon has been pushed back to 3:30 p.m., but the venue — the Great Hall of the Faculty Club — remains the same.

On Friday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m., a memorial for Professor of Ethnic Studies Ronald Takaki will be held in International House’s Chevron Auditorium; a reception will follow in the Ethnic Studies Library, 30 Stephens.

Finally, a memorial for historian Kenneth Stampp, who died July 10, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Toll Room, Alumni House. For information, phone 642-0016.

All three ceremonies are open to members of the campus community.

CAA names new alumni president

Alan Mendelson ’69, of Atherton, is the new president of the California Alumni Assocation. Mendelson, who also holds a law degree from Harvard, has served on the CAA board for the past four years.

CITRIS speaker schedule set

This semester’s lineup of Research Exchange talks has been announced by CITRIS. The weekly talks, which began Sept. 2, are held every Wednesday at noon in the third-floor auditorium in Sutardja Dai Hall; they are free, open to the public, webcast online, and archived at
