MEMO TO REPORTERS: Update to CDC Director's talk at UC Berkeley
BERKELEY – On Tuesday, April 8, Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will speak about public health preparedness at a Dean's Colloquium sponsored by the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health.
The public talk is scheduled from 5-6 p.m. at the Anita Baldwin Auditorium, Room 22, Warren Hall. Please note that this is a time change from the original notice sent out to reporters last week. There will be a 45-minute talk followed immediately by a 15-minute Q&A session with the audience.
An overflow room with audio only will be available at Room 24 Warren Hall. Television reporters are strongly advised to arrive by 4:45 p.m. to set up their cameras.
While the media is welcome to attend the colloquium, Gerberding will not be available for individual interviews either before or after the talk.
Because the seating at the event is limited, reporters should call Media Relations by 1 p.m. on Tuesday to confirm their attendance. Print media should contact Sarah Yang at (510) 643-7741, and broadcast media should call Julie Huang at (510) 642-6051.
