Chenming Hu Hu will accept the honor at an awards banquet at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta in May. Mauro Ferrari Ferraris work on biomedical microdevices includes microfabricated capsules for the immunoisolation of cell transplants for the therapy of diabetes; microfabricated intravascular systems for delivering anticancer drugs; and microfabricated nanofilter membranes for eliminating viruses from plasma derivatives. Berkeley professors Richard Mathies of chemical engineering and Albert Pisano of mechanical engineering are members of journals editorial board. John Quigley During 1997-98, Quigley served as president of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, an academic affiliation of urban economists and finance specialists founded in 1964. Last June, Quigley was named Chancellors Professor of economics and public policy by departing Chancellor Chang-Lin Tien. Ernest Kuh and Ron Shen Tung Chee-hwa, chief executive of the city of Hong Kong and chancellor of the university, presented Kuh with an honorary doctorate of engineering and Shen with an honorary doctorate of science at a ceremony in Hong Kong late last year. The two were honored along with three individuals from Hong Kong representing business, law and humanities. |
