Stimulating Your Childs Brain Development Helping children reach their fullest potential is a major concern for most parents. According to Professor Marian Diamond, moms and dads can stimulate their childs intellectual devel-opment by better understanding how the brain works. In her most recent book, Magic Trees of the Mind, Diamond outlines how parents can help their children overcome challenging temperaments, prevent overloading kids with activities, provide the best educational environments and find opportunities for children to develop their talents in sports, music, foreign language or other creative endeavors. Diamond will discuss her research and sign copies of her new book Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Hall of Science, located on Centennial Drive. Diamond, one of the countrys leading brain researchers, will provide practical, positive guidelines on how and when to nurture childrens brain development. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the museum or by calling 642-5134. |
