Staff Merit Increases Are on the Way

by sfkgjhr, Public Affairs
posted December 02, 1998

Merit increases for eligible staff employees covered by Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) are being awarded effective Jan. 1 (delayed from July 1). The eligible group includes non-exclusively represented employees in step-based positions.

About 300 campus employees are in this category. Other campus employees are eligible for merit increases on a different cycle. For those who are represented, terms and conditions of employment (including the salary increase program) are contained in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

The merit increases in this cycle will be awarded for performance during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 1998; the increases will appear in Feb. 1, 1999 paychecks.

Detailed guidelines, as well as questions and answers regarding the merit program, are posted on the Human Resources web site at hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrpay.htm.
