News Briefs Posted February 16, 2000 Free AIDS Tests at Tang Center University Health Services now offers free, anonymous HIV testing at Tang Center. This is an oral test (no blood is drawn). Results are available in one week. Provided by the city of Berkeley, the testing service is available the first Tuesday of each month on a drop-in basis. There are a limited number of spaces available. The clinic is located on the first floor of Tang Center, to the right of the elevators. Testing hours are 5 to 7 p.m., with check-in beginning at 4:50 p.m..

The campus community is invited to attend "Advancement 2000: Charting Cal's Course for the Future," a March 3 conference organized by the campus Fundraising Council. The day-long conference will provide training and professional development opportunities in the field of advancement, which includes fund raising, public affairs and alumni relations. Its lectures, panel discussions and networking opportunities are designed for those just starting out in the field or exploring a career transition, as well as seasoned professionals. The conference will be held at the Clark Kerr Campus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, March 3. The campus and its vendors are underwriting all costs, which include workshops and lectures, a continental breakfast, buffet lunch and wine reception. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 23.
