New Service for Remote Access to Library Resources The Library is offering a new service that allows campus faculty, staff and students who have a library card or student ID to access the Berkeley and California Digital Library-licensed electronic Web resources from off campus without having to dial into the campus modem pool or use a password. To participate, patrons need a cable modem, DSL or high-speed modem access (28.8 or higher) through an Internet service provider, as well as a recent version of Netscape (for all operating systems) or Internet Explorer (for Microsoft Windows only). Those connecting from campus or using the Home IP or SHIP account do not need this service. For information, or instructions on how to use the proxy server, see (http://proxy.lib.berkeley.edu/).
