Blockbuster Films Come to Campus posted September 2, 1998 Some of the most successful films of 1998 are coming soon to a theater very near you -- Wheeler Auditorium. SUPERB, Berkeley's student-run production group, presents its Friday-night film series for fall semester, chock full of dramatic, hilarious, futuristic and adventurous movies. Highlights include "The Truman Show," whose main character, Truman Burbank, unknowingly lives his whole life in front of cameras as the subject of the most popular TV show of all time. The swashbuckling magic of "The Mask of Zorro," a romantic adventure of love, honor and triumph set against Mexico's fight for independence from Spain, is also featured. The season ends with the critically-acclaimed film "Saving Private Ryan," a compelling World War II drama pitting common decency against the madness of war as a squad of American soldiers risk their lives to save a private stranded behind enemy lines. Admission is $3 for Berkeley students and $4 general. A $20 season pass is also available. For more information, call 642-7477 or visit SUPERB's web site at http://www.asuc.org/superb.
