The Budding Business of Print Publications in Russia

Two editors of prominent Russian journals will discuss "Culture, Journalism and Entrepreneurship in Russia Today," at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, in the Toll Room of Alumni House, for the 15th Annual Colin Miller Memorial Lecture.

Russian MagazinesMasha Lipman is deputy chief editor of Itogi, a weekly news journal published by Newsweek. Similar in format to Newsweek, Itogi is a successful example of the new journalism in post-Soviet Russia.

Irina Prokhorova is editor and founder of Novoe Literaturnoe Obozrenie (New Literary Review), which combines literary criticism and cultural essays with bold graphic designs.

These publications represent the resurgence of entrepreneurial publication activity in Russia.
