Step Up to the Mike and Express Yourself posted October 14, 1998 Rhyme and Reason invites faculty, staff, students and members of the community to recite poetry, tell stories, perform music or discuss their scholarship at an open mike poetry series, held at the Berkeley Art Museum. Rhyme and Reason meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month and features presentations by two invited guests followed by an open-mike session. Participants have up to 5 minutes for their presentations and are encouraged to use experimental or traditional modes of expression. The readings begin at 7 p.m. in the Pacific Film Archive conference room at 2625 Durant Ave. Sign-up for the open-mike session begins at 6:30 p.m. The first reading, Monday, Oct. 26, features Richard "Dixi" Cohn and Walter Ligget.
