Faculty and Staff Discounts on Basketball Season Tickets

Posted September 15, 1999

Faculty and staff can purchase 1999-2000 season tickets for men's and women's basketball games at discounted rates Friday, Sept. 24, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the main entrance to the new Haas Pavilion.

Campus employees who attend the event will receive a discount of 20 percent on men's and 17 percent on women's season tickets. Each employee can purchase two tickets. Seat assignments will not be made at the time of purchase.

Coaches and players from both teams will be on hand at the event to welcome new ticket holders to Cal's new home. This will be the first public event to be held in the newly renovated Haas Pavilion.

Those attending the ticket sales event can get a look at the new building at the Homecoming Rally, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

The new, state-of-the-art arena boasts 12,000 seats, twice as many seats as the old Harmon gym, but stacked seating will keep the action intimate. The expansion makes Berkeley eligible to host NCAA basketball tournaments.

The first regular season home game takes place Saturday, Nov. 27, as the Bears battle University of the Pacific. An exhibition game against EA Sports is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 8.

Tickets can also be purchased by calling 1-800-GOBEARS.
