On Thursday, Oct. 21, financial planner Tim Miller and elder law attorney Peter Stern will explore "Financial and Legal Planning for Long-Term Care." The series ends Thursday, Nov. 11, with "Positive Communication Techniques in Dementia Care," with geropsychologist Catherine Lee.

For information, call 643-7754.

Help the Shorebirds; Pick Up Trash Sept. 18

Shoreline trash is dangerous to birds and other animals that call our local shorelines home. You can help Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon, when the California Coastal Commission and the city of Berkeley hold their annual East Bay shoreline cleanup.

Berkeley participants meet at the mouth of Strawberry Creek to sign waivers and be assigned a site. The meeting place is behind the Seabreeze Market, at the corner of Frontage Road and University Avenue at the Berkeley Marina.

Participants are eligible for a raffle. Prizes will also be given for most litter collected and most unusual item found.

For information, call 644-8623.

Correction

In the Sept. 8 issue of the Berkeleyan, Rhodessa Jones was incorrectly referred to as a Regents' lecturer. Jones is a visiting lecturer in the Department of Dramatic Art.
