Faculty Proposals Due for Undergraduate Research Program The Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program is accepting proposals from active ladder faculty who would like to involve undergraduates in their research projects in spring 2000. The deadline for proposals is Monday, Nov. 15. Faculty involved in the program select their own apprentices and work with them throughout the term. A small grant helps cover research expenses. Students receive valuable experience, a greater appreciation for the life of research, and in most cases, academic credit. "Students are eager to find research apprenticeships in all fields -- in the humanities and social sciences as well as the sciences and professions," noted Terry Strathman, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. For information, contact Strathman via e-mail at urap@LS.berkeley.edu or at 642-3795.
