New Century Plan Public Workshop

The campus community is invited to the second public workshop on the New Century Plan. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, in the Tan Oak Room, Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union Building.

The New Century Plan is being developed through a yearlong process that will create a strategy and set priorities for the future use of campus facilities and properties, in both the city of Berkeley and the surrounding region. The plan will address the need for improved instructional and research space, as well as the need to seismically upgrade more than 3 million square feet of campus buildings.

The Jan. 24 evening workshop will focus on community/campus planning issues. Please come and share your ideas.

An open house for the plan's new Project Information Center will be held immediately preceding the Jan. 24 workshop -- from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 2440 Bancroft Way, across the street from Eshleman Hall.

Information on the plan will be available soon on the New Century Plan Web site www.newcenturyplan.berkeley.edu/, scheduled for launch in February.
